Biography
Born in the Bronx NY, Bobbe Green (Richard Robert Green) studied radio, journalism, and theater at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Although he majored in mass communications, he pursued a career in music. While in Boston, he worked with local artists such as New Edition, Jonzun Crew, Planet Patrol, Hypertension, and the Energetics as a “stagehand,” however, Bobbe modeled their vocal styles, stage presence, and musical/vocal arrangements. In 1987, Bobbe (formerly known as King Richard) met promoter Al Pizzaro and later released "Thrill Me" under Jackie Jack Records, in New York City, which he wrote, produced, and arranged with musician Mike Mandel who worked with major television networks, arranging jingles for sport programs. While with Jackie Jack, Bobbe collaborated with other artists such as Judy Torres, Trilogy, Jazzy Jay, and producer Mickey Garcia (Profile/Micmac Records). In 2000, Bobbe moved to Norfolk, VA with his wife Derithia and three children, and joined BiggaFiggaz Entertainment as a producer/songwriter, writing several songs for the company. In 2016, Bobbe and record producer Dylan Patrick Smith produced a CD album entitled: "Shades of Green" which included a gamut of genres such as Neo Soul, R&B, Smooth Jazz, R&B/Hip-Hop, and Dance Music. Bobbe’s intention was to give the audience a variety of music without redundancy. But he wanted more out of his music and not just sing about romance, self-interest, or betrayal in relationships. One night, while he was sleeping, a melody and chorus emerged in a dream. Bobbe was afraid that he would forget the dream, so he recorded the melody on his cell phone. Subsequently, Bobbe collaborated with musicians Brian Eubanks and David Booker and produced "Faith", recorded at Soul haven studios, in Virginia Beach VA and released in 2017. Bobbe has also performed with other local artist and bands such as the Vince Barbour Quartet, Jay Usher, Dwight “Drac” Epps, Rick Elliott, Gregg "Termite" Rich, Brian Eubanks, Rob White, Ben Keys, Fade to Blue, Dion “Suga D” Davis, saxophonist Mike Minix, Mike Hopkins, and vocalist Jocelyn Best. Also, Bobbe covered Dionne Warwick's "What the World Needs Now” on his “Alive and Kickin” CD as an efficacy to encourage people to stop using guns to settle conflicts. In March 2019, Bobbe released his second CD “Alive and Kickin” and produced a full-length video entitled “Could This Be” – a remake of the R&B classic “Could Be I’m Falling in Love” by the Spinners. In 2021, Bobbe released his third digital album “Life is Beautiful” produced by Bobbe Green and Brian Eubanks, including arrangers David Booker and Ben Keys. The album included a collection of genres including Bossa nova/Jazz, R&B/Funk, and some classic Pop Rock, and ballads. In 2022, Bobbe joined up with Grammy nominated Will Bagley (Muzikman Edition) to produce a gospel dance track entitled, “I Found a Friend.” In 2024, Bobbe teamed up again with arranger David Booker and recorded the R&B single entitled “Don’t Push Me” written and produced by Bobbe Green. In addition, Bobbe produced the video version of the song which is now showing on YouTube. Currently, Bobbe is producing a compilation digital album entitled, Songs in the Key of Green: The Journey Continues, which contains remastered and remixed songs from Bobbe’s previous albums. Bobbe would like major labels and artists to record his songs from the compilation. Further, Bobbe would like to write and produce for other labels and artists in the music industry as well as receiving the respect and notoriety from colleagues and fans, in the United States, and all over the world. Undoubtedly, Bobbe has more songs to write and produce for years to come – the journey continues. Songs in the Key of Green: The Journey Continues, coming soon to ALL media platforms.

Artist Spotlight: Bobbe Green – The Maestro of Meaningful Soul
Review by Doc P – SM Enlightenment Radio
In a world that often recycles the superficial, Bobbe Green is a refreshing return to purpose, passion, and pure artistry. From the streets of the Bronx to the stages of Virginia Beach, Bobbe's journey is a masterclass in soulful perseverance. With a background rooted in radio, theater, and journalism, it's no surprise that his music tells stories—real, human, and heartfelt.
From the moment you press play, you’re not just hearing music—you’re feeling Bobbe Green. His latest collection, including “Same Way Again,” “Without You,” “Ride,” and the powerful gospel anthem “Faith,” is more than a playlist—it’s a living, breathing soundtrack of the soul.
“Same Way Again”
This one is pure time travel—80s soul reincarnated. The groove is funky, the melody intoxicating, and the vocals? Bobbe’s voice is velvet soaked in experience, dripping with sincerity. It echoes the spirit of Sounds of Blackness, but with a unique Bobbe twist. The lyrics speak of unwavering love—of choosing the same path, the same person, every time. It’s a dancefloor confession, groovy and grounded.
“Without You”
Now this right here? The two-step anthem of the summer. The beat’s got bounce, the vibe is romantic, and Bobbe's vocal delivery? Smooth like satin in candlelight. He sings about longing and love like a man who’s lived through it, cherished it, and come back for more. The message is clear—home is where the heart is, and his heart belongs to love.
“Ride”
Sultry, sleek, and sophisticated, “Ride” is that grown-folks R&B—where jazz meets soul on a moonlit highway. This one glides, it doesn’t walk. A perfect track for cruising with the top down or cuddling up with someone special. It’s adult urban contemporary at its finest—cool, confident, and classy.
“Faith”
Bobbe takes us to church without ever leaving the soul train. “Faith” is a divine declaration, a soaring message of hope and belief. “You can touch the sky,” he proclaims—and when Bobbe sings it, you believe it. The arrangement is uplifting, the lyrics are spiritual fuel, and the performance is nothing short of inspired. This one is for the believers, the dreamers, and those fighting to hold on.
Legacy in Motion: Songs in the Key of Green
With decades of dedication behind him, Bobbe Green isn’t just making music—he’s building a legacy. His upcoming compilation album Songs in the Key of Green: The Journey Continues is a heartfelt collection that showcases the many shades of his sonic palette—Neo Soul, Jazz, Funk, Gospel, and beyond. Bobbe doesn’t just want to sing about love; he wants to sing with love, purpose, and vision.
Whether he’s working alongside legends like Will Bagley, paying homage to icons with soul-stirring covers, or penning originals that uplift and empower, Bobbe Green is a rare breed—an artist who gives as much as he grooves.
Final Word
Bobbe Green deserves every spotlight, every stage, and every stream. His music is more than melody—it’s ministry. It’s a vibe with values, a rhythm with reason. In a musical world often too busy to feel, Bobbe reminds us that Positivity is Everything, and music with meaning still matters.
